Introduction

Aeternum owns and operating an asset base that allows us to link 'farm to feedstock' and 'farm to forecourt'.

Aeternum Biofuels is committed to the development of a sustainable biofuels supply chain to the UK renewable sector.  We are a privately funded company focused on commercial sustainability in its widest sense.  We operate in targeted areas of proven biofuels : biodiesel and biomass.

What makes Aeternum different?

Our ownership and operation of an asset base that enables a link between 'farm to feedstock' and 'farm to forecourt' separates us from others.  Aeternum is developing an integrated supply chain supply chain to support the future development of a biodiesel and biomass industries in theUKand the local regions where we operate.

Aeternum and its partners share the common goals of:

  • Promoting commercial and economic growth in the business of biofuels
  • Operating world class production facilities in the UK
  • Building an industrial cluster around our production facilities which helps to improve business practices and efficiency and stimulates effective supply chains from 'farm to forecourt' and 'farm to fuel'
  • Establishing a centre of expertise and competency in biofuels within the North East and North West region
  • Driving investment and employment in sustainable industry

Aeternum are seeking to develop ways of maximising biomass, energy crops, waste, and oil crops to diversify the feedstock base for biofuels.

Our aim: To be central to the development of this new industry in the UK.

Rt Hon Chris Huhne MP, Secretary of State for Energy & Climate Change (16 December 2010):

"The Government believe that sustainable bioenergy, such as woody biomass, bioliquids and many other bioenergy forms, could contribute up to half the UK's target of 15% renewable energy by 2020. That would deliver a greenhouse gas saving of 20 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent by 2020. It would also improve the UK's security of supply, as bioenergy is one of the few renewables that can generate energy on demand."

Professor Dermot Roddy Chairman, Northeast Biofuels:

"The European biodiesel industry has seen hard times not helped by public policy changes, prospective investors are struggling to read the runes on the debate about how to deliver both food and fuel, and governments ponder the subtleties of Indirect Land Use Change (ILUC)."
